About Me

Hi, thank you for getting through to this page. Just to say a little bit about myself, so you can get a sense of who I am. However, I believe the initial online meeting might give you a better feel of how you would feel with me in the counselling space.

My name is Karolina and I have got a big passion for travelling and the human mind. I have always been interested in how we all have a different understanding of the world around us, depending on our lived experiences. I have been lucky enough to be able to travel around the world, experience different cultures and see how people in different countries live and what their values and believes are. I believe this helped me to be open minded and non-judgmental in the counselling room. I am always curious about clients and their understanding of the world. Together we can explore your world and see if there might be patterns of behaviour that doesn’t serve you anymore and raise awareness of patterns, emotions or feelings that are important to you.

Experience

Previous to my training, I have a decade of experience working within the health and social care sector – both within the NHS and privately.

I hold a postgraduate diploma in Humanistic Psychotherapy and Counselling from the University of Brighton. As part of my training, I worked as a therapist in a hospice, supporting people with grief and loss. I have also volunteered for a low-cost counselling charity supporting people who have experienced depression, anxiety, alcoholism and low self-esteem to name a few. I am a registered member #402475 of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapist), which means I follow their standards and ethical framework. www.bacp.co.uk/therapists/402475/karolina-soukupova
